HAG represented Dabur International Co. ltd., an Emirati National Company, which is engaged in the production and marking of the well-known DABUR AMLA hair care products, appealing to the High Court of Justice the trademark registrar’s decision in an opposition filed by Marico Limited an Indian company. The opponent claimed that our client's application to register the trademark DABUR AMLA in class (3) is a misleading to its unregistered trademark "PARACHUTE AMLA".
The trademark registrar has accepted the opposition filed by the opponent and decided to register the trademark DABUR AMLA without giving a protection to the word AMLA, as it is a descriptive word, as claimed.
